The Story Behind Dazzotek
My name is Aaron Randazzo. The story behind Dazzotek is a tale of both serendipity and discovery. In 2005, I began producing music using Fruity Loops Studio 5 on the family computer. At the time, I was savvy with navigating and troubleshooting in Windows, but did not know much about PC hardware. On multiple occasions during my attendance at James Madison High School, many important music production and media files were lost due to hardware malfunctions. After hiring technicians to recover the data and solve the underlying problem, I remained in the same boat, only with less cash to show for it.
Determined to prevent repeated data loss, I began an unending pursuit to rise above future hardware problems by becoming more knowledgeable. This journey started in 2009, with 48 hours of volunteering for Free Geek (a non-profit computer recycling and education program). The original goals of this pursuit were to protect my music career from further loss, and to have a music production PC to call my own. After hours of disassembling and building computers, as well as experimenting with the PC I had acquired from Free Geek, I quickly found that my knowledge was becoming an asset. For several years, relatives and friends would reach out for help with their computers, as well as having custom PCs built. Soon enough, I found a joy and passion working with computer hardware that exceeded my enjoyment of creating music.
In 2014, with the encouragement of two aspiring entrepreneurs, Hari Reyes (owner of ReLeaf Dental) and Charles Ritter, I decided to change my mission, committing to turn what started as a hobby and side hustle into a legitimate business. While working in various kitchen environments and doing driving gigs, I continued to hone my computer skills and expand my knowledge through trial by fire---sometimes quite literally. Through direct experience and observation, I gradually became confident enough to take on more challenging projects. By 2017, I was frequently building high end desktops for professional creators, gamers, streamers, and even day traders.
As the pandemic entered the stage in 2020, I quickly found my time shifting from a 50/50 split between rideshare driving and computer work, to having all work hours reserved for computer services. After building hundreds of computers during the Covid pandemic, the buzz eventually settled and the market stabilized. In 2024, I began a dedicated marketing endeavor, including the creation of this page, a google business listing, and social media profiles, in order to help more folks discover what Dazzotek has to offer.
